Week 4 · Anchoring your rhythm
Sleep Timing & Consistency
Your body thrives on predictability. This week we anchor your sleep and wake times — the single most impactful sleep intervention for most people.
This week's lessons
1
Why consistency beats duration
Going to bed and waking at the same time every day — including weekends — does more for sleep quality than almost anything else. A consistent window trains your body to expect sleep, making it dramatically easier to find.
2
Your optimal sleep window
Based on your Week 1 diary, we identify your natural sleep tendency (earlier or later chronotype) and set a realistic, consistent window. Fighting your chronotype fails; working with it succeeds.
3
The wake-up anchor
Consistent wake time matters more than consistent bedtime. Even if you sleep poorly, rising at the same time reinforces your rhythm. This is the anchor that makes everything else work.
Your practices
Do these daily
Consistent sleep window
Same sleep and wake time every day, including weekends.
Morning light + wake
Light within 30 minutes of your consistent wake time.
Journal prompts
Sit with these
“How did consistency change your sleep quality this week?”
“What was hardest about maintaining the schedule, and how did you handle it?”
This week's herb
Valerian
A stronger sedative herb for those who need it. Confirm with your practitioner — not for everyone.
Your action this week
Maintain your consistent sleep window all seven days. Wake at the same time no matter what.
